Bramber Castle

The remains of this Norman castle are perched on a high natural knoll overlooking the River Adur, defending a gap in the South Downs.

Gilbert White and the Oates Collection

Gilbert White was aged 7 or 8 when the White family moved from the Vicarage on Selborne’s Plestor, to this house, called ‘The Wakes’ (named after the Wake family who had lived here previously).

Petersfield Physic Garden

Uppark House and Gardens
